Boguslaw Liberadzki


Bogusław Liberadzki was born on 12 September 1948 in Sochaczew, Poland. He completed his Master degree in economics in 1970, having defended his PhD thesis in 1975. In 1986-87 he was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Illinois and in 1999 he became professor of economics. Currently he is the director of the Transportation Department of Warsaw School of Economics.

Mr. Liberadzki was minister of transport and maritime economy from 1993 to 1997 after having served as deputy minister between 1989 and 1993.

He was a Member of Polish Parliament (1997-2004) before being elected an MEP in the European elections of 2004 and 2009. 

Bogusław Liberadzki is currently vice-chair of the Budgetary Control Committee in the European Parliament, as well as member of the Transport and Tourism Committee. Furthermore, he is a member of the European Parliament Bureau, serving as Quaestor. 

In April 2012 Mr. Liberadzki was elected Vice-chair of the Polish party Left Democratic Alliance.
