Katarína Neved'alová


Katarina Neved’alová was born on 10 November 1982 in Nitra, Slovak Republic. 
After the completion of an internship at the International Department of the social-democratic party SMER-SD, she worked as meeting manager during the parliamentarian electoral campaign in 2006. 

In 2006 she was elected ECOSY – Young European Socialists, Board Member. While in ECOSY, Ms. Neved’alová was active in the fields of youth policy and fight against right wing extremism. She was ECOSY Vice-President between 2009 and 2011. Since 2011 she is Vice-President of the European Youth Forum.

From 2005 to 2010 Ms. Neved’alová was deputy-secretary at the SMER International Department, having also worked as Parliamentary assistant to a Member of the Národná rada (Slovak National Parliament). In 2010 she became International Secretary and head of the International Department of SMER.

In 2009 she was elected to the European Parliament, where she is a member of the Committee on Culture and Education and where she also integrates the delegation to EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia.

In September 2012, during the 9th PES Congress Katarina Neved’alová was appointed Vice-President of the Party of European Socialists.
