PES, PES Women and Rainbow Rose discussing women’s and gay rights in Tunisia

post.jpgThe PES, Rainbow Rose – our network for LGBTI Rights (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual and intersex people) - and PES Women debated the state of play of women’s rights and LGBTI rights in Tunis, Tunisia, on 17 September. At the conference, participants discussed how to better support those rights in the context of the EU-Tunisia trade negotiations. The conference was organised by the Global Progressive Forum, in co-operation with Rainbow Rose, Solidar Tunisia and SHAMS (Tunisian LGBTI organisation).

Stanishev, Ninova, Iotova push forward the European Youth Plan in Bulgaria

The Party of European Socialists’ European Youth Plan was elaborated in cooperation with the S&D Group in the European Parliament and all PES member parties. We are committed to making it a reality’, said S&D MEP and PES President Sergei Stanishev. He spoke at the #Act4Youth campaign launch event today in Sofia, Bulgaria, together with BSP Chair Kornelia Ninovaand the party’s runner for Vice-President for the upcoming presidential elections in the country, Socialist MEP Iliana Iotova.

PES leaders agreed to focus on EU social agenda after Brexit

PES Leaders in Bratislava

The leaders of the Party of European Socialists discussed new ways forward for Europe after the Brexit vote and how to bring the EU back on the path of social justice. The meeting of the PES leaders took place in Bratislava ahead of the informal meeting of the 27 heads of state and government of the EU. The PES meeting was hosted by the Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico.
