At the invitation of the Czech Social Democratic Party – CSSD – and its leadership, the PES Council, bringing together 500 leaders, representatives, activists of our member parties, parliamentary group and member organisations from all over Europe will be held from 1-3 December 2016 in Prague. PES President Stanishev to have meetings in Poland and the Baltics, debating the future of the EU

The President of the Party of European Socialists Sergei Stanishev is on tour to Poland and the Baltic states. Leading a PES delegation, Stanishev will discuss the current situation in the EU with high-level officials from the countries' member parties, academics and other PES partners.

PES supports PSOE in rejecting Rajoy and rejects the attacks of the European conservatives on Spanish socialists

The Party of European Socialists supports the negative vote of PSOE at the failed investiture of Mariano Rajoy as Prime Minister of Spain. The European progressives strongly reject the European People's Party's allegation that PSOE is behaving 'irresponsibly'.
