Our Events







PES Women



PES Women members meet three times a year to:

  • Discuss strategic initiatives and specific policy themes
  • Agree on campaigns and resolutions
  • Share information on relevant European and national policies

PES Women also organizes a yearly conference that gathers around 100 representatives from PES member parties, NGOs, trade unions and the media.

Yearly conference 2015

On the 11 and 12 of June, PES Women will hold its Annual Conference "Power to Women", including interactive debates, quizzes, presentations and the adoption of the resolution on "Feminism in the 21st Century". Read the programme of the event.

During the event, Zita Gurmai was re-elected as head of PES Women and the resolution "Power to Women: Feminist Europe of 21st century" was adopted.


Yearly conference 2014

PES Women from all over Europe gathered for their Annual Conference, entitled ‘PES Women Summit; Power to the Women'.  The meeting was held at the Headquarters of the Partito Democratico in Rome. The main topic of today's panel was combatting the Gender Pay Gap in Europe, to ensure women’s economic empowerment, employment and welfare in the face of the crisis. 

Before the Conference, a PES Women statutory meeting was held where recent campaign developments were discussed as well as the upcoming PES Election Congress. PES Women also adopted a Resolution: “Solidarity between European women to ensure Sexual and Reproductive Rights for all Women.” Read the full resolution here.


Yearly conference 2013

In 2013 PES Women yearly conference took place on 21 June, in Sofia, Bulgaria. The meeting was titled “Women up! Against the Crisis, and during the conference participants debated the consequences and solutions to the devastating effect of the crisis on women. The conference was also the occasion to launch the new PES Women Campaign on closing the Gender Pay Gap: “Equal Pay, it’s about time!


Yearly conference 2012

On 27 September PES Women met in Brussels for its yearly conference titled "Combating Young Women's Unemployment". Over a hundred people participated to the meeting that aimed at discussing solutions to specific causes of young women’s unemployment. Measures proposed included gender budgeting, equal access to green jobs, and reconciliation of private and professional life. The conference highlighted of the joint PES-PES Women-ECOSY campaign: “Your future is my future: a European Youth Guarantee now!
